self talk makes me a smilemaker

Getting ready for the new year mentally:)
Voyage of discovery
You are the person you have discovered yourself to be. And there is no limit to what you can discover.
The more you live and experience and accomplish, the more fully you evolve. Every moment is an opportunity to add strength and effectiveness to your life.

Every experience helps you more clearly see and understand the magnificent, enormous potential of your life. The joys and the sadness, the pleasures and the frustrations all enable valuable discoveries.

The more fully you understand who you are and what you have, the more effectively you can put it all to use. Take advantage of each opportunity for discovery, in each moment, in each encounter, and in each challenge.

Every experience is a learning experience. Every day is a voyage of discovery.

A lifetime of discovery awaits you right now. Climb aboard, eager and enthusiastic for whatever experience awaits, and begin the journey.

Christmas presence
There is a light in the darkness. It is love; it is joy.
There is a pure and simple radiance with a positive, joyous power. It warms the hearts of those who value peace and love.

The spirit of Christmas transcends beliefs, traditions, culture and customs. It speaks directly to the heart, of love and grace, of giving and of renewal.

In the pure, limitless power of love, life is created and sustained. In the radiance of this day, love's presence is joyously expressed again and again, in countless ways.

In this moment, new life begins. And love is the ever-present purpose that drives every other purpose.

On this day, you have a glimpse of how truly blessed you are. Give love, give joy, and you have even more.

enjoy life:)

en Judaism

Let go of pride, ego, and opinions. Admit your errors and forgive those of others. Relinquishment will lead to calm and healing in your relationships. If that doesn't work, try small claims court.

Though only your skin, sinews, and bones remain, though your blood and flesh dry up and wither away, yet shall you meditate and not stir until you have attained full Enlightenment. But, first, a little nosh.

Accept misfortune as a blessing. Do not wish for perfect health or a life without problems. What would you talk about?

Be here now. Be someplace else later. Is that so complicated?

There is no escaping karma. In a previous life, you never called, you never wrote, you never visited. And whose fault was that?

The Torah says, "Love thy neighbor as thyself." The Buddha says there is no "self." So, maybe you are off the hook.If there is no self, whose arthritis is this?

Wherever you go, there you are. Your luggage is another story.

Do not let children play contact sports like football. These only lead to injuries and instill a violent, warlike nature. Encourage your child to play peaceful games, like "sports doctor."

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single "oy."

Grades are in:

“To fail is a natural consequence of trying, To succeed takes time and prolonged effort in the face of unfriendly odds. To think it will be any other way, no matter what you do, is to invite yourself to be hurt and to limit your enthusiasm for trying”

grades are in , and after a long difficult semester, most of you have heard me complain about two classes physical science and humanities, well here is the outcome:

physical science ( C )yes, you might think thats not good at all but if you know me, that is great, I don't have to retake it.

humanities,: (B) this is a small miracle in itself, I failed the midterm so I was praying for at least a (C) a B is an early Christmas present. one more semester to go:)

Video final

when you keep your chin up all you see is rainbows:)

Walk Through
Today's Scripture

“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me” (Psalm 23:4 NKJV).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Do you ever feel like you are walking through the valley of the shadow of death? During the tough times, it’s easy to get to discouraged. I love what it says in the verse, “though I walk through…” No matter what you are facing today, know this: you are not alone, and you are just walking through. You don’t have to stop and live in the tough times. They are only temporary. I encourage you today; don’t allow fear to paralyze you in the middle of “the valley of the shadow of death.” Remember, God is with you. He is walking beside you. He is strengthening you. He is making a way of escape for you. He is lining up people and situations to bring you out of that tough place into a place of strength and victory. Don’t give up! Press on and walk through! Begin to get a vision of your life on the other side. See yourself more loving, more faithful, stronger and more blessed than ever before. As you keep moving forward and walking through, you will get to the other side and experience the victory God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. Thank You for walking with me even in the hard times. I trust that You are taking me through my circumstances to a place of victory and strength. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Think Big:)

happy blessing day:) ok so I just made that up, but it is something we all need to hear.

Your many blessings

The best way to count your blessings is to make them count. The best way to give thanks is to live with a thankful heart in every moment. As you do that, your many blessings will grow beyond you and continue to fill the world with their goodness.
Stop and consider all those things for which you can be thankful. Each one of them is more than merely a blessing. In each one of them is your opportunity to add your own special treasures to life, to the world in which you live. What more meaningful and powerful blessing could there possibly be?

Your blessings are not yours to be stored up and hidden away. Indeed, the moment you do that they lose their value. Rather, your blessings are yours to be fulfilled. They are not static, but dynamic. They have no limits other than the ones you impose upon them by your fear and shortsightedness.

Your blessings are yours to bring to life. Give thanks, and give life and power to your many blessings. Live them in every moment and watch as they grow to spread their goodness far beyond you. They are yours not only to treasure. They are yours to live, to give, to confidently share, to fulfill.

Bring your blessings to life and let them shine their light over all the world.

Immaculate Conception:)

Feast day for the RC sometimes a misunderstood Holy day, many think that it in honor of Mary conceiving Jesus , It really surprises me how many Catholic's do not understand this day, so get smart about your faith and pass it on, especially during your lessons this week;)

The Immaculate Conception is, according to Roman Catholic dogma, the conception of Mary, the mother of Jesus without any stain of original sin, in her mother's womb: the dogma thus says that, from the first moment of her existence, she was preserved by God from the lack of sanctifying grace that afflicts mankind, and that she was instead filled with divine grace. It is further believed that she lived a life completely free from sin. Her immaculate conception in the womb of her mother, by normal sexual intercourse (Christian tradition identifies her parents as Sts. Joachim and Anne), should not be confused with the doctrine of the virginal conception of her son Jesus.
The feast of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated on December 8, was established in 1476 by Pope Sixtus IV. He did not define the doctrine as a dogma, thus leaving Roman Catholics freedom to believe in it or not without being accused of heresy; this freedom was reiterated by the Council of Trent. The existence of the feast was a strong indication of the Church's belief in the Immaculate Conception, even before its 19th century definition as a dogma.
The Immaculate Conception was solemnly defined as a dogma by Pope Pius IX in his constitution Ineffabilis Deus, on December 8, 1854.
The Roman Catholic Church believes the dogma is supported by Scripture (e.g. Mary's being greeted by Angel Gabriel as "full of grace" or "highly favoured"), as well as either directly or indirectly by the writings of many of the Church Fathers, and often calls Mary the Blessed Virgin (Luke 1:48). Catholic theology maintains that, since Jesus became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, it was fitting that she be completely free of sin for expressing her fiat.

John 12:24 and more:)

24 Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. 26 If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there will my servant also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

If you know me you perhaps think this pertains to TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) the best retreat program I had the honor of directing for several years:) but I just heard Joyce talking about this passage and it was just the tip of the iceberg of my journey.

I tell you unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by it self alone:
when I was on my journey , doing what God had anointed me to do I was blessed truly blessed, I would never change the experience, the lessons and the friends I made along the journey changed my life. but as the journey cames to an end it is like the wheat falling into the earth and dying a sad process but necessary.

it remains by itself alone, but if it dies, it bears much fruit
being left behind on my journey trying to find a new direction it was as if I was alone, abandoned. a way of dying to self, a new direction which seems uncertain and uncomfortable, but with change come discomfort.
the fruit has begun to ripen and the journey seems to have found purpose just when I had given up on looking for the way.

25 He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.

the fact that change makes us uncomfortable makes perfect sense when we read this part.

27 "Now my soul is troubled. What shall I say?'Father, save me from this time

it seems like yesterday I was quoting this passage:) and today I rejoice because the journey is beautiful and the steps to get there I would never change, it has made me the stronger, smarter, faithful and most of all happy to find a new anointing:)

7 steps to success

sometimes we need tips from people who have proven the steps to success.
enjoy and put into practice.

Chris Widener
Your Success Store

KNOW YOUR PURPOSE. Nothing will bring you joy more than knowing what it is that you are about on this earth. Not knowing brings sadness, wondering, fear and lack of fulfillment. Above all, find out what your unique purpose is here on this earth—then fulfill it! As you do, you will experience joy!

LIVE PURPOSEFULLY.…It is one thing to know your purpose, but then you need to live according to that purpose. This is a matter of priorities. Let your actions and schedule reflect your purpose. Don't react to circumstances and let them cause you to live without your purpose fully in sight. Living without your purpose will cause frustration. Living purposefully will bring you deep satisfaction and joy!

STRETCH YOURSELF. Don't settle into the status quo. That will leave you unfulfilled. Always look to stretch yourself. Whatever you are doing, stretch yourself to do more! Stretching yourself will break the limits you have set for yourself and will cause you to find joy in your expanded horizons!

GIVE MORE THAN YOUR TAKE. It brings happiness to accumulate. It brings joy to give away. Sure, getting the car you worked hard for will bring you a sense of satisfaction and even happiness. But it won't bring you joy. Giving something away to the less fortunate will bring you deep, abiding joy.

SURPRISE YOURSELF AND OTHERS TOO. The words here are spontaneity and surprise! Every once in a while, do the unexpected. It will cause everybody to sit back and say, "Wow, where did that come from?" It will put a little joy in your life, and theirs.

INDULGE YOURSELF SOMETIMES. Too much indulgence and you are caught in the happiness trap; looking for the next purchase, celebration, etc., to bring you a little "happiness high." But if you will allow yourself an infrequent indulgence as a reward for a job well done and a life well lived, you will appreciate the indulgence and experience the joy of it.

LAUGH A LITTLE—NO, A LOT! Most people are just too serious. We need to laugh a little—no, a lot! Learn to laugh daily, even if you have to learn to laugh in bad situations. This life is to be enjoyed! The next time you go to the movie rental store, get a comedy and let loose! Let yourself laugh!

Joy can be yours! Look for it, pursue it and enjoy it!

Find peace today:)

Saint Theresa's Prayer
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

A gift, use it or it will continue to follow you:)

Pursue Your Strengths
Today's Scripture

Joel Osteen has become one of my favorite motivator he makes sense and makes you laugh too. if you visit his website to listen to his word, be patient through his praise and worship music because his motivational preaching is very uplifting:)

“Do not neglect your gift…” (I Timothy 4:14).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God has equipped each one of us with specific gifts and talents. It’s up to you to not only to identify those gifts, but to be disciplined to develop those gifts. You have to learn to stay in your strength zone. What are you naturally good at? What do you enjoy doing? Take the time to identify your strengths and weaknesses and as the scripture says, give yourself to your gifts. In other words, don’t spend all your time trying to improve your weaknesses. Don’t waste valuable days pursuing things that are outside your main gifting. Focus on your strengths. There is something that you’re good at naturally—something you can do that comes easy to you. Step out into your area of gifting. Are you good with people? Are you good with your hands? Do you have a great voice? Find ways to develop those gifts. Know that your gifts and talents are a part of your divine destiny. If you’ll be comfortable with who God made you to be, and thank Him for your unique gifting, you’ll not only enjoy your life more, but you’ll be ready to receive the abundant blessing God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for equipping me with everything I need to be successful in this life. I ask that You show me how to develop the gifts within me for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

We need some holy smiles:)

A Well-Known Monk

A wandering monk walked barefoot everywhere he went, to the point that the soles of his feet eventually became quite thick and leathery. And because he ate very little, he gradually became very frail. Several days often passed between opportunities to brush his teeth, so he usually had bad breath. Therefore, throughout the region, he came to be known as the super-calloused fragile mystic plagued with halitosis.

Don't Pay For Me, Daddy!

A little child in church for the first time watched as the ushers passed the offering plates.

When they neared the pew where he sat, the youngster piped up so that everyone could hear: "Don't pay for me Daddy, I'm under five."

Missing Jesus

It was Palm Sunday, and the family's 6-year old son had to stay home from church because of strep throat. When the rest of the family returned home carrying palm branches, the little boy asked what they were for. His mother explained, "People held them over Jesus' head as he walked by."

"Wouldn't you know it," the boy fumed. "The one Sunday I don't go to church, and Jesus shows up!"

Keep your eyes on the prize :)

Today's Scripture

I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

What are you looking at today? Are there challenges in your life to overcome? Don’t just look at your problems day in and day out, lift up your eyes and look toward heaven. You will naturally move in the direction that your eyes are looking. If you are always looking at your problems—meditating on them, feeling sorry for yourself, telling everybody about them—you will become consumed by them. But when you look up, your life will start to move up. When you keep your eyes on Jesus, it is also a sign of your faith and expectancy. The Bible tells us that faith is what moves the hand of God. When you have an attitude of faith and expectancy, you open the door for His power in your life. Decide today to focus on the goodness of our God. Lift your eyes and heart to Him and begin to praise Him with your words. As you lift your eyes, your help will come, and you will live the victorious life He has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, today I choose to lift my eyes to You. I will look to You for my help. Thank You for showing me Your salvation and deliverance. I bless You today in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

get purpose

sometimes we forget that we have a purpose, yes we think I"ll do that soon, or someday, today is someday and soon, so get going on what you want to do for yourself and enjoy the feeling of self actualization :)
Live with purpose
True purpose has no time limit. True purpose has no deadline.

Whether an accomplishment takes fifty years or fifteen minutes, the purpose behind it remains the same. Purpose exists apart from time, space and material artifacts.

Can you feel the real purpose in your life? It is not in any hurry, and it cannot be deterred by anything.

Purpose does not linger, but moves steadily along with you, whatever you do and wherever you go. Purpose has no use for compromise, and finds its way forward in every situation.

When you live from your purpose, you live beyond time. If you feel fear, anxiety or despair, dig deeper, for you have not yet fully connected with true purpose.

Purpose is now and purpose is always. Live with true purpose, and leave the limitations behind.

smile it's Monday:)

Mondays are great , why you might be asking yourself, well it indicates that the weekend is just around the corner:)
so enjoy your Monday,, begin you list and remember it could be worse, it could be Sunday:)

have a busy day and enjoy it:)

my homework for today:) take a walk/run with a group and write a small paragraph, so here it is for those who are tracking my progress for the NY marathon:)

A beautiful Saturday Morning for a walk, this is my second attempt at participating in a group walk. My first try was not very successful. I arrived to my first walk at 9:00 am, who knew that runners complete their task so fast. My husband and I arrived an hour after it started and it was over, so I did not think that disqualified as my group walk, because my husband and I do not qualify as a group, well if you weigh us maybe, but that would be bad for my ego.
My second attempt was a bit more successful. On Saturday morning November 17 I attended the YMCA walk/run. This event was well-attended and fast pace. I waited for all the fast runners to go first; I am in no way a show off so I did not attempt to show them up. I enjoyed the energy that this walk had everyone was full of smiles and speed. I followed the crowed and ventured into a neighborhood I did not know existed. I was doing well when it came to speed, and I knew that because I was not last. My time for 2 miles was 32 minutes, it was nice that there was someone there telling you how slow you were, wait, I bet they were there for the fast people too. There was also a gentleman on a bicycle who would ride by us and say things like” feel the burn” or “ doesn’t it feel good’ ok so I could of done it without him, because it just made me laugh every time I saw him. I enjoyed this walk very much it reminded me of the volksmarches in Germany we use to take every weekend, back in the day. It really made time fly going on a walk with over 50 people, and being on the phone with my personal trainer, QBF she enable me to overcome my fears and out walk the 105 year old woman, thanks QBF, in no time I had arrived at the finish line, 48 minutes and I had completed the 5k walk, yes even I can do this walk and like it.

this for Affable Imp

Hey Imp
just wanted to share a Lawyer smile:), enjoy your day:)

The Driver, the Priest, and the Lawyer

A truck driver was driving down the highway when he saw a priest at the side of the road. He stopped to pick up the priest and give him a ride.

A ways down the road the driver saw a lawyer on the side of the road. He turned the truck to steer directly toward the lawyer. Then he remembered, "I have a priest in the truck. I can't run down this lawyer," and at the last second he swerved to miss the lawyer.

But he heard a thump outside anyway. He looked in his rear-view mirror but didn't see anything.

He turned to the priest and said, "Sorry Father, I just missed that lawyer at the side of the road."

And the priest said, "Don't worry son, I got him with my door."

new beginning

we often forget that when something ends, a new beginning is just around the corner:)
remember to keep your eyes open for what's coming:)

Live on a higher level

When you're constantly on the lookout for limitations, you invite those limitations into your life. Choose instead to allow more of the goodness and wholeness that make life so beautiful and miraculous.
Keep your focus on the positive possibilities, and put your energy into bringing those possibilities to life. When you're busy with creative accomplishment, fewer troubles will be able to find you.

Allow your thoughts and actions to be in harmony with your most cherished values. Fill your moments with sincere expressions of love, gratitude and creativity.

If you see yourself as struggling and striving, you give power to fear, pain and despair. Choose instead to see yourself as making a positive difference, and give your power to the very best things you can imagine.

You never have to live on the level at which everything is a problem or a conflict. You can decide to live on a higher level at which every situation is an opportunity to invoke and to express life's goodness.

In each moment, allow that goodness to stream into your world. With each day, lovingly bring to life the value that is yours to create.

-- Ralph Marston

I was right about curves:

when I say curves, I don't mean the place where you go to sweat:) I mean the curves I spoke about just a few blogs ago:) so I will enjoy one more serving of turkey next week:)

Women with curves are cleverer: Study

London: Curvy women have been admired for their sensual figures. But, a new study has found that ladies with large hips and small waists are cleverer too, than those with apple-shapped bodies.

In fact, according to international researchers, women with an hourglass figure are not only intelligent, they also give birth to brighter children, The Sunday Times reported.

“The fat around fuller hips and thighs holds higher levels of omega3 fatty acids which are essential for the growth of the brain during pregnancy,” the researchers were quoted as saying.

The scientists at the Universities of Pittsburgh and California came to the conclusion after analysing data from a study of 16,000 women and girls, which collected details of their body measurements and their scores in cognitive tests.

The team found that those women with a greater difference between the waist and hips scored significantly higher on the tests, as did their children — “possibly a result of higher levels of Omega3 fatty acids on the hips”.

The research has explained why children born to teenage mothers do worse in cognitive tests: Their mothers may have had insufficient stores of the best fatty acids.

“The cognitive development of their children is reduced, and their own cognitive development is impaired compared with those mothers with a later first birth,” the researchers were quoted as saying. The study also noted, however, that children born to teenage girls with traditional hourglass figures seemed to be protected from this phenomenon and did better in tests.

so as I plan my day I have almost mastered my wardrobe , yes you read right, I have decided that now that I am trying to develop myself into a total package:) I have cleaned my closet , I have cleared out all of those clothes that I keep around hoping to one day fit into:) well after so many years of keeping them in my closet, they are back in style, now you know that is a long time:) here is why I am doing this, I looked in the mirror and saw a tired soul, but on the inside I don't feel tired, so I touched up the roots and put on some hose:) and watch out world, I am going to look good , so I was the only person standing in my way:) so go to your closet, give your old or new things to a soup kitchen, or a women's home:) and look fabulous , we big women need to show the skinny women, we enjoy our food and clothes too and smile more, because we are not hungry:)

I conquer darkness daily

I suffer from darkness yes even me, a gift from my mother who lives her entire life in darkness and motionless. the worse day is my birthday, I'm not sure why, but it is probably because even thought I have two living parents I am orphaned, they do not have any contact with me unless it comes from me to them:) a true blessing for me are the friends and family I have made in my life, and when I say family I mean family which I have acquired via marriage, the big G was the father I never had and a a true role model of what true dads should be like we all miss him. a big thank you to all who help the darkness part on this day:)

in the darkness monsters and ghost do seem real, but the light always wins:) the fight is real but the battles get shorter:)

believe it : say it : and enjoy it with confidence:)

believe and it becomes:) keep saying it and you will have confidence in it:) and if you are confident in it you will do it more:) so believe it, say it and enjoy it with confidence:) not that everything is easy to accomplish, but I know that if you can see it in your dreams it will come to you:) I celebrate my life daily, I am very blessed and grateful for it daily, who would have seen my life decades ago, homeless child living on federal assistance without parental support of any kind. today I am blessed beyond my prayers, the deepest fears gone and comfort and joy abundant:) pass on the ability to believe to others today, keep sharing the smile:) it changes lives.

some praises for some stuff going on here:) QBF and QBF daughter and I went shopping yesterday, probably the most important purchase in years. we ordered a special item for son #1, we are so excited about the upcoming special event:)

also the small fry made the basketball team :) 40 girls started the process and only 13 made it, only 3 6th graders:) we are so excited for her, it is her passion to play this game:) she is playing point guard:)

in both of these blessings, they both believed, and so it is:)

start right now

the journey sometimes seems longer than it should be, and I believe that when you are reaching your goal you begin to encounter some stumbling stones. just an emotional roller coaster. you must continue to use your self talk and know deep down inside that the prize is just around the corner, a Monday thought, keep on smiling and remember to enjoy the journey, since this is the story you will tell.

Home sweet home

we are back from our Joyce Myers conference we had a great time, we prayed, ate and laughed, a great combination:) a great birthday present:)
I am now in search of balance:)
I will let you know how that goes as I figure it out.
enjoy your sunday

Who you are

Who do you think you are? Your perception of yourself becomes reality through the thoughts, decisions and actions of every moment. Are you kind? Are you loving? Are you honest? Are you successful? Are you wealthy? You are when you truly think you are.

Every day a thousand decisions greet you. They overflow with opportunity. They can take you to any place imaginable. How do you choose? How do you decide? You do so based on who you think you are.

What do others think of you? It depends on who you think you are. What will you become? That depends entirely on who you think you will become.

Who do you think you are? It is revealed in every moment, in every action, in every decision, in every thought and opinion. The great thing is that you can be whomever you decide you will be. It is your choice. It is your life. So who do you think you are?

enjoy your friday

Day two of Joyce Myer day one was funny and insightful, all the time I have this morning to write, so enjoy your friday:)

The best day you have ever known

Instead of waiting and looking back on your life and realizing how great it was, realize how great it is while you're living it. These are the good old days.
This is the time to treasure right now. Don't put off your appreciation for today until some time when all you have of it is a faded memory and a photograph.

You are swimming in a thick sea of overwhelming richness that is this moment. Wake up to how truly blessed you are to be right where you happen to be.

Sure there are frustrations and annoyances, challenges, pains and disappointments. And you have the good fortune of being in a position to transcend every one of them.

Stop wondering what life is all about and start choosing what you are going to make it become. Stop waiting for someone else to make it all better and start taking your own steps to make it uniquely great.

This can be the best day you have ever known. All it takes is for you to decide to make it so.

a sappy poem:)

do you ever read something that is so sappy, but at the same time so sweet:) I read this today and I wanted to share it, I am so blessed to have a great best friend and I could only hope that everyone is so blest:) we are off to ATL to a womens conference, yes Joyce Myers, look her up if you don't know who she is, a great woman preacher:) we will be enjoying ourselves in a retreat, and for the first time we will not be sleeping on the floor:) and not watching kids:) enjoy my sappy poem that I read today;)

if love was a raindrop I would send you a shower
If hope was a minute I would send you an hour
If happiness was a leaf I would send you a tree
If you need a friend you will always have me!

are you the bridge to a better day:)

when we go into our day are we ready for the problems that are waiting for us? even on my best day I know that something or someone is going to come and try to upset me. my job is to not get caught up in the moment and loose my cool, sometimes easier said than done. the one thing we need to remind our selves of is that nothing anyone can do, can take the power of positive thought away, ok so sometimes I think" I am positive you are an idiot":) (keep that thought on the inside and I promise it will make you smile:) enjoy the below quote:)

Problems become opportunities when the right people join together."

Happy Monday

Monday's are not always happy, so today it is my mission to make it a happy monday to anyone that comes in contact with me. I can hear QBF saying right now, how annoying she is going to make people laugh:) laughter makes everyone feel better:) make a choice today to have a good day:)
also a big welcome to The Affable Imp to the world of smilemaker:)

Making choices

Carefully consider your choices. But don't get so consumed with making the perfect choice that you fail to make any choice at all.
Most choices will involve some degree of compromise. In the real world, the perfect option may not be available to you.

Instead of holding out for a perfect choice that never does come, make the best choice from the options available to you. It's better to move forward with a slight degree of disappointment than to be endlessly stuck on making a decision.

Carefully and wisely consider your options, then go ahead and choose one. Take what you have to work with and begin actually working with it to create real value in your world.

Remember that the fulfillment of your dreams is a journey and not a single step. It is unrealistic and counterproductive to expect that a single choice will solve all your problems or instantly bring you everything you ever hoped for.

Over time, careful, intelligent choices will get you precisely where you want to go, even though each individual choice will involve a little compromise. Keep choosing the best every chance you get, and those dreams will indeed become real.

a child of god;)

today I am sharing a repeat poem, yes, I love it and I need to remind myself of how many great things it saids:)
today I was blessed to watch children at prayer:) and it was my smile moment:)

Let Your Light Shine

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, which most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented, and fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And, as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Have a blest day and enjoy the small moments:)

St. Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within. May you trust God
that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the
infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts
that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence
settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance,
praise and love. It is there for each and every one.

The Dash

I was blessed to have been part of Gerard's dash:)
Sweet dreams Grandpa rest in peace:)

The Dash

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of his friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the second with tears,
but he said that what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth,
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars, the house, the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard,
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left.
(You could be at "dash mid-range.")

If we could just slow down enough
to considerwhat's true and real,
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And...be less quick to anger,
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash...
would you be pleased with the things they have to say
about how you spent your dash?

Speed bumps

have you ever gotten a speeding ticket? I have, that is when you wish you had a speed bump, they slow you down and make you realize that you should have been paying more attention to the road. just like life, I need to slow down and look around and refocus.
as the goals seem closer sometimes we hit speed pumps, my speed pumps are taking test, I study, know the stuff, but have trouble sometimes getting it on paper:) this week not so bad, 80 on a science test:) my happy place today

some times when you have tried different things to accomplish a goal and you still need help you look for help in the usual place. So anyone who wants to do a novena with me please join in. St. Jude novena to be exact, we need prayers for better test scores:) if you do not know what a novena is you can fine the explanation below:) So join me beginning on Saturday

Novena
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The word Novena is the feminine form of the Medieval Latin word, "novenus", "ninth", which is the ordinal number from novem, nine.
In the Catholic Church, a novena is a devotion consisting of prayer said (most typically) on nine successive days, asking to obtain special graces. These may consist of small prayer books, recitation of the Rosary, or small prayers through the day.
The practice of saying novenas is derived from Scripture. After Jesus' Ascension into heaven, he told his disciples to pray together in the upper room and devote themselves to constant prayer (Acts 1:14). The Apostles, Blessed Virgin Mary, and other followers of Jesus prayed together for nine consecutive days, concluding in the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.
Though the novena is primarily a devotion used by members of the Catholic Church, it has spread to the Orthodox, Anglican, and even some Lutheran churches.

same parking lot 8 years later:)

7 years ago, I sat in a parking lot waiting for my child to finish class, yes a senior in high school and he did not want to drive. I did not mind, because it was good time to talk and discuss the future. As I look back I realize that we only discussed his future, now I realize that children need to hear from their parents that they have future plans too. We are never done with our future building plan, not just when I retire, or when I get old, remember to say today, as I get old as I retire, I will be ___________.
So much has changed in 8 years, what seemed so important and urgent, (people, job, soical) has gone and a gratitude takes it's place. Associates, which at that time were called friends, gone, and what a real blessing that is to know who is really there for you when it is not popular. Mentally I have changed totally, I truly understand that being a religious person has nothing to do with a righteous person, faith is what you believe not what you say, and that God is there all the time, even if you are not looking:)

with that said, I return to the same parking lot and sigh, where do I park, and will I be late to class:) apart from God I can do nothing, amen

John 15-5 apart from me you can do nothing.

Humble thy self:)

a restful spirit, and sleeping out:)

Humility

In addition to persistent, ongoing effort, continued success requires humility. If you grow arrogant after a few accomplishments, you're not likely to have many more.
With each success you gain more confidence, and that's great. When you've done it before, you know that you can do it again.

Yet even as your confidence level grows higher and higher, do not make the mistake of discarding your humility. For humility keeps you reasonable, respectful, thankful, thoughtful and realistic, and those are all qualities essential for continued success.

Thinking that you're entitled to something just because you want it is a reliable recipe for failure and disappointment. Humility reminds you that in order to receive value, you must create value in equal measure.

While it is certainly possible to accomplish things without humility, those accomplishments will be empty and short-lived. Those people who enjoy meaningful success and fulfillment year after year and decade after decade are those people who know the value of humility.

Choose to be strong enough and smart enough to live with genuine humility. The rewards for doing so will show up throughout your whole life.

connecting to the pass with purpose

connecting with the past:) here is a photo of my father, my two sisters and my stepmom, it has been 29 years since we really talked:) but the door has opened to connect and begin again:)

I love the way this guy writes:)

Purpose

Somewhere inside, somehow you know that there's a purpose for you on this day. Let that purpose come to the surface and bring it fully to life.
Authentic purpose is not a deep, dark secret that you must struggle to discover. Decide to allow it, and purpose will find you where you are.

Purpose is not so much a matter of what you do. Purpose is more about the way you feel while doing whatever it is you are doing.

Those things you know without having to learn, connect you to purpose. Purpose is not merely what you think you might believe, but what you're certain that you are.

Purpose is the unconditional, limitless realm in your life that cannot be diminished by anything that happens. Whatever you undertake from the sense of that purpose brings great fulfillment and richness to life.

Always you have known that there is purpose within you, a purpose essential to who you are. Give it to life again and again, for you'll never tire of seeing its shine.

the road sometimes looks long:)

bouency force is my smile for yesterday:)

I think I invented the word procrastination, why do you ask? well, there are some things I never get done, but in reality I don't want to do . so instead of procrastination should it be notwantdoing,? hey that can be a new word so I will start using it today. begin a word revolution use my new word, here is an example of how to use it.
I should be cleaning my closet but notwantdoing gets in the way:)

The cure for procrastination

The only cure for procrastination is action. Go beyond wishing, dreaming, considering, debating the options and get busy making it happen.
Yes, it's going to be a little uncomfortable, it's going to involve effort, it's going to require commitment, and you're going to run into difficult challenges. So ask yourself -- do you intend to make it happen or would you rather put it off again and again so that it never gets done?

What gets done is what gets done now. In a little while, in a couple of weeks, in a few years, when you get around to it -- these "somedays" never do come.

It's helpful to substitute the word "never" for someday, for that will force you to confront the issue. Give yourself the choice between doing it now or doing it never, and you'll be much more likely to do it now, if it's truly important to you.

This moment right now is loaded with great value. You can choose to take action, and make that value your own, or you can choose to do nothing and forever leave this moment's bountiful treasure behind.

Decide to accept the tremendous opportunity that is already available to you. Let go of the excuses, and make this the moment you jump into real, effective, purposeful action.

the seed is planted

I have been noting down my daily smile, just saw the big O last week and watched the author of the book , eat, pray, love and she gave great advise and also to note your daily happy moment, so I have been using this blog to share it, but had not explained it, so every time you see a random thought followed by a :) it was or is my daily smilemaker:) enjoy:)

Dillion playing chapel for an hour:)

Harvest the rewards

The influence of each action continues long after the action has been completed. The power of each thought resonates far into the future.
Think and act as if each thing you do will start a chain reaction. Because that's exactly what will happen.

Exercise control over the big, obvious issues in life and you'll have some measure of success. Learn also to control, direct and focus all the thousands of little things that few people ever even think about, and your success will be great indeed.

Each tiny little fraction of a moment is an opportunity to make a difference. Bundle all those opportunities together in the service of your goals, and they will bring spectacular results.

With each and every thing you do, with each thought you think, with every word you speak, you are planting seeds. Those seeds continue to grow, long after the moment has passed.

When a positive, purposeful attitude permeates your life, those seeds you plant will develop into powerful, enduring expressions of your most authentic self. Give your best to each moment, and you'll harvest the rewards over and over again.

my smile today is a child's smile :)

Real treasure to be found

If you're always chasing happiness, it will never be able to find you. Relax, simply give happiness a place to live in you, and it will be in great abundance.
When you put conditions on enjoyment, it turns into just another chore. Let go, and sincerely enjoy the miracle that is your life as it comes to you in each moment.

If you become overly attached to specific results, you set yourself up for disappointment and disillusionment. Be ambitious, yet do not be your ambition.

Sometimes, when things fail to go the way you planned, they turn out better than you could have possibly expected. Welcome life's surprises and choose to see the positive value that is in each one of them.

Don't be too quick to place judgments on the people, situations and events in your life. In everything that comes along, there is an opportunity for you to more fully discover and express your true purpose.

Be open to whatever life brings your way. There is real treasure to be found in it all.

they are the cutest couple and they are really smart too:)

I am a Dr.

if you believe you will become:) so this is my new path, why get a Masters, when for a little more effort I can get a PHD. It was just a few years ago I longed to get a BA, now that longing has become a fact. never just wish, DO IT!!!!

Fulfillment of desires

If you are not moving forward, it's because you are holding yourself back. You may have chosen to blame your lack of progress on outside factors, yet deep down you know that you are the primary factor.
It doesn't really matter why or how you've chosen to prevent yourself from achieving your desired results. What's crucial is that you simply get out of the way and allow yourself to move forward.

There is a very real and accessible connection between you and whatever it is that you desire. To achieve your desired results takes nothing more than activating that connection and letting it follow its natural course.

The same conditions that make your desires possible also make it possible for you to fulfill those desires. So stop fighting those conditions and start making use of them.

You are not separate from the fulfillment of your dreams. You are in fact the person through whom that fulfillment can be most easily and most magnificently expressed.

Let the seeds of your treasured desires grow as they will in the fertile ground of intention. Allow whatever you seek to flow freely and unhindered from the best of who you are.

the spirit is strong

The fundamentals of a person are not in substance but in spirit.

this weekend was very productive and emotional. we went to see the head of our family
he has decided to rest and sleep and let nature take its course. that is a great decision. we said , see you later when we departed, and we will see him either next time we visit or in heaven. he is still smiling and fighting , and we know that is the way he would want us to remember him:) keep him in you prayers , that he might sleep well and may peace surround him:)
hug a love one today, and share a smile:)

Thursday, September 20, 2007

scripture continues to help us daily

another scripture , that I need today:) we are called upon to make choices that we pray will be for the better, today especially, pray for our family as we see our grandpa, heading toward the end of a great life. in the next few days we are to decide to continue medical treatment or let him come home to hospice . for everything there is a season, god help us to receive your plan with grace:)

Embrace Your Season
Today's Scripture

“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God has ordained seasons in your life. It’s easy to get frustrated when our dreams aren’t coming to pass on our timetable. When that happens, we have to submit our plans to Him and trust that He has a better plan. Understand that in God’s Kingdom, every season is not harvest. There are plowing seasons. There are planting seasons. There are watering seasons. And sure, we would love for every season to be a time of increase, but without the other seasons, we wouldn’t be prepared. It’s during the plowing seasons when God’s bringing issues to light that we need to deal with. He’s getting us prepared for promotion. If you’re not making as much progress as you would like, the key is to not lose any ground. Don’t go backwards. Hold your position by keeping an attitude of faith and expectancy, even when it’s hard. Keep plowing by speaking the Word daily. As you do, you’ll pass the test, and God promises your due season is coming!

A Prayer for Today

Father in Heaven, thank You for Your faithfulness in all seasons of my life. I trust that my time is coming, and I choose to remain faithful. I submit my ways to You today and trust that You have the best plan for my life. I love You and praise Your name today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

Joel keeps sending the same scripture in a different way:)

God-Ordained Moments
Today's Scripture

"For I know the plans I have for you,”declares the Lord”, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God created every one of us to be successful. Before the foundation of the world, He laid out an exact plan for our life. And in this plan, He has marked moments that are going to come across our paths. These moments are not ordinary. They are destiny-altering moments. They are designed to thrust you years ahead. It says in Ecclesiastes that “time and chance come together for every person.” That means you’ll have opportunities to meet the right people, opportunities to advance in your career, opportunities to fulfill your dreams. God has already pre-arranged times of increase and blessing. You may not be seeing a lot of good breaks right now, but let me encourage you; there are seasons of favor and seasons of increase marked for your future. There are God-ordained moments planned out for you. Don’t miss these moments! Don’t stop believing, and don’t get distracted by what’s going on in the world around you. Focus on removing the clutter from your life so that you can hear the still, small voice. Approach today with an attitude of faith and expectancy. As you do, you’ll embrace the God-ordained moments that are ordered for you!

A Prayer for Today

Father God, thank You for ordering my steps. Thank You for making a way when there seems to be no way. I choose to step out today with faith and expectancy so that You can move in my life. I trust You with my destiny and thank You for fulfilling every desire of my heart today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
