Baby Boy 3 Graduates

As our baby boy takes another step toward the real world we are reluctant to let go of his hand, but we know that he is steady enough to walk the walk:)
God Bless you Bean:)
We love you:)

A Motivational Poem
Just One
By Author Unknown

One song can spark a moment,

One flower can wake the dream.

One tree can start a forest,

One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,

One handclasp lifts a soul.

One star can guide a ship at sea,

One word can frame the goal

One vote can change a nation,

One sunbeam lights a room

One candle wipes out darkness,

One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey.

One word must start each prayer.

One hope will raise our spirits,

One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,

One heart can know what's true,

One life can make a difference,
You see, it's up to you!

Letter to the Editor :)

Westside High is a wonderful school
Letter to the Editor
Monday, May 28, 2007COMMENTPRINTEMAIL I am a parent of children in the Richmond County school system. I want to share a few thoughts about our school system.

My children have been attending Westside High School for the past seven years. This is our first public school; my children are military brats and have always attended private schools. As the end of our Westside adventure is near, I want to thank this school for being the best school in my children's path.

My first son is now in Morehouse School of Medicine; my second son is a senior at Georgetown University; and our youngest is graduating and will attend Augusta State University. These past seven years have blessed us with teachers who really care and nurture students - especially Ms. Radkoski, Ms. Newhall, Mr. Grant, Coach Holcombe and Ms. Wright, to name just a few. I would like to especially thank Ms. Colvin for not just being a counselor but being the driving force that motivated my sons to follow dreams. Mr. Spivey and Mr. Taylor, thanks for keeping them out of trouble.

Westside, I will miss the family atmosphere and the friendly voice on the phone, Ms. Dean. God bless the Westside family. I will see you again in 2011.

Philippians 4:13

The currents that determine our dreams and shape our lives, flow from the attitudes we nurture every day."

Philippians 4:13 (New International Version)

13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

When I was in colombia , I watched this video and it truly made me realize that you can do anything, if you believe
and that our limitation are only in our head:)

today's prayer shared for you:)

He gives us the prayers we need when we need them:)
from my daily prayer spot:)
Today's Prayer
May 20, 2007
Oh God, You're an awesome God. You reign over us with mercy, grace, and love. Your mercy endures forever and Your love is deeper than any other we could know. I praise You this day for Your provisions for me and for every member of my family. Thank You for watching over your children. Thank You for chastising us when necessary and for rescuing us so many times. You work behind the scenes and through so many people and circumstances to bring things full circle and bless us in spite of our choices and the paths we take. Please forgive us of our sins. You work all to good for those who love You. Please continue to guide us, direct us, protect us, and work through us to accomplish your purpose for us in this day and age. May You receive all the glory for great things You do. In Jesus' name, amen.

Becoming a Mighty Man
TGIF Today God Is First, by Os Hillman

All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their leader. About four hundred men were with him. - 1 Samuel 22:2

Have you ever felt that you could accomplish a whole lot more if you had more talented people around you? Perhaps you are in an office and think that some of your fellow workers don't quite measure up. Imagine what David must have thought in the years following his anointing by the prophet Samuel as the next king of Israel. He spent the next many years running from King Saul. Now God was beginning to bring men to support David. But what kind of men? The down-and-out. God gave David not the elite or the sophisticated; He gave him those who were in debt and discontented with life. David turned those men into the best fighting men of their day. In fact, David never lost a battle during his entire reign as king of Israel-quite a feat for a bunch of no-name, lowlifes! Some of those men became an elite group known as David's Mighty Men. These were the elite of the elite, the Navy Seals, the Few Good Men, the Green Berets. Whatever you call them, they were exceptional warriors.

Jesus took a few men who weren't exactly the cream of the crop either. He built His life into these men, which resulted in 12 men who turned the world upside down. Are you one of God's mighty men or women? Are you investing your life to build other mighty men or women? David and Jesus set the example of what can be done when we invest in others. God does extraordinary things through men who have an extraordinary God. Ask God to use your life to be a mighty man or woman for a cause greater than yourself. He delights in such prayers.

This is the day the lord has made

this was the scripture we shared yesterday in our end of year chapel, but beyond that line
was a wealth of words of blessings, it described for me so much
if you have not read it lately read it again with an open heart:)
enjoy God's word today:)
Psalms
Chapter 118
1
1 Give thanks to the LORD, who is good, whose love endures forever.
2
Let the house of Israel say: God's love endures forever.
3
Let the house of Aaron say, God's love endures forever.
4
Let those who fear the LORD say, God's love endures forever.
5
In danger I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free.
6
The LORD is with me; I am not afraid; what can mortals do against me?
7
The LORD is with me as my helper; I shall look in triumph on my foes.
8
Better to take refuge in the LORD than to put one's trust in mortals.
9
Better to take refuge in the LORD than to put one's trust in princes.
10
All the nations surrounded me; in the LORD'S name I crushed them.
11
They surrounded me on every side; in the LORD'S name I crushed them.
12
They surrounded me like bees; they blazed like fire among thorns; in the LORD'S name I crushed them.
13
I was hard pressed and falling, but the LORD came to my help.
14
The LORD, my strength and might, came to me as savior.
15
The joyful shout of deliverance is heard in the tents of the victors: "The LORD'S right hand strikes with power;
16
the LORD'S right hand is raised; the LORD'S right hand strikes with power."
17
I shall not die but live and declare the deeds of the LORD.
18
The LORD chastised me harshly, but did not hand me over to death.
19
Open the gates of victory; I will enter and thank the LORD.
20
2 This is the LORD'S own gate, where the victors enter.
21
I thank you for you answered me; you have been my savior.
22
3 The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
23
By the LORD has this been done; it is wonderful in our eyes.
24
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice in it and be glad.
25
4 LORD, grant salvation! LORD, grant good fortune!
26
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. We bless you from the LORD'S house.
27
The LORD is God and has given us light. Join in procession with leafy branches up to the horns of the altar.
28
You are my God, I give you thanks; my God, I offer you praise.
29
Give thanks to the LORD, who is good, whose love endures forever.

a praise for the hardest semester but the most fulfilling

the most fulfilling semester has also been the hardest and the one I thought I could not complete:)
thinking back on midterm week and how I picked up a withdraw slip and filled it out for two of my classes:)
but a prayer before my exam , brought to mind this point:)

I rather fight a good fight and lose with conviction than to face fear by quitting:)
and today my grades are here and the good fight have brought me a C and a B
so todays' quotes are my praise and thanksgiving to god for allowing me to fight a good fight
and move forward in my victory dance:)

Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow."

The greatest discovery of any generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitude." - William James

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

Teaching is learning

as I spend my week watching 9 women teach classes I taught here in the last few years, it touches my heart that they have learned so much and that they teach it all back , it is like an infectious disease,it is growing and spreading all over the country here:) I am so blessed to be a part of this ,

“Learning is finding out what you already know, Doing is demonstrating that you know it, Teaching is reminding others that they know it as well as you do. We are all learners, doers, and teachers.”

positive self talk:)

Your own words are the bricks and mortar of the dreams you want to realize. Your words are the greatest power you have. The words you choose and use establish the life you experience.
Croquette Sonia

I always say I can't spell in any language:) those of you who know me know this as a fact.
I thought about it today for a second, spelling does not count in life, I could use that as a
crutch but no I will be a terrible speller in two languages:) and that's ok, because if my fear
of spelling would had stopped me from pursuing a dream I would not be here today:)
Thank you God for allowing the fear to stop and letting faith in myself give me the dreams you
want me to have:) Fear freezes your dreams and takes away your power to move forward.
join me in my journey forward , dream and live:)

sometimes you need to look beyond the surface;)

"Look within for strength. Look beyond for perspective."

Strength is the force that drives you on the journey to the future:)
it's funny how perspective means so much to so many
what does it mean to you today:)
