If the past is unredeemable, and the future unpredictable, what more practical course is open than to safeguard the present by constant rememberance of the divine?

Smilemaker's personal credo 2008

In one of my classes I had to write a personal Credo as an assignment so I want to share it with you:)

Personal Credo:
The rainbow is not just a path to gold, but the colorful expression of the joy in the journey.

Rainbows are optical and meteorological phenomena that cause a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. They take the form of a multicoloured arc, with red on the outer part of the arch and violet on the inner section of the arch. More rarely, a secondary rainbow is seen, which is a second, fainter arc, outside the primary arc, with colours in the opposite order, that is, with violet on the outside and red on the inside.

if you have time and what to laugh, watch this rainbow remix, it will make you laugh:

“Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.”

smilemaker has a smile about the road :)

Every minute you spend in your life is either spent bringing you closer to your goals or moving you away from your goals.

Everywhere you look, there are small ways for you to make a positive difference. String enough of them together, and absolutely anything is within your reach.

WHAT IS THE TRIDUUM?

The most solemn and joyful celebration of the Christian calendar is the period from Maundy Thursday through Holy Saturday. Worship on these days or evenings are traditionally considered to be parts of an unbroken liturgical service called the Triduum (Latin for "Three Days"). In the earliest days of the Christian church, the events we commemorate in the Triduum were celebrated in one day and night's continuous worship service called the Pascha (from the Greek transliteration of the Hebrew word for "Passover").

Smilemaker:) get ready the biggest week ever for prayer:)

my strong women 40 days are over:) we all need to take just one aspect of some of them and we will reach our smiles: right now read and enjoy the moment for what it is:)

A burden you don't deserve

It's easy to blame someone else for your troubles. Yet when you're truly honest with yourself, it's clear that blaming someone else will not add the slightest bit of value to your life.
It seems fair and reasonable to expect your problems to be solved by the people who caused them, but stop and think about it. Do you really wish to give those people who caused your problems any additional control over your life and your future?

To move your life in the direction you choose to go, you must be willing to take full responsibility for it. That means moving past what's easy and accepting that things are not always going to be fair.

Perhaps life has given you a burden you don't deserve. Instead of seeing that as an excuse to give up, see it as an opportunity to give more.

Though you may not have brought the troubles upon yourself, you can nevertheless make positive use of them. Choose to take full responsibility for your own situation, and you'll begin to see how you can rise from it to a level that's higher than ever before.

Real success does not result from everything going perfectly. Real success comes when you're willing to move forward no matter what may happen.

Thank you Patsy:)

Patsy Sherman was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1930. After college graduation, she joined 3M as a research chemist and was assigned to work on fluorochemical polymers. Patsy Sherman was one of very few women chemists to work for a major corporation when she was hired by 3M in 1952. Her work was an essential part of the introduction of 3M’s first stain repellent and soil release textile treatments which have grown into an entire family of products known as Scotchgard ® protectors.

Hannah Solomon :)

Solomon was not only the celebrated founder of the National Council of Jewish Women, but also an important force for reform in turn-of-the-century Chicago. Her work grew out of her sense that "woman's sphere is the whole wide world." But at the same time she believed a woman's primary responsibility was to her family. For Solomon, there was no more powerful role than that of the Jewish mother.

Above all, Solomon's commitment and energy were legendary. As one sister quipped, "We know that it is useless to attempt to stop you in your mad career, that ere the winter has passed, the only field of your activity will be a spot marked by a marble slab bearing the inscription, 'Gone to another meeting. Locality uncertain. Return indefinite!'"

Smilmemaker's smile for the day:)

As an artist with Hallmark™ since 1970, John Wagner created Maxine in 1986 as a new character line for the Shoebox Greetings™ card division. He created a brazen older woman with a stooped back, a mop of curly gray hair and abrasive personality. Wagner's mom, grandmother and unmarried aunts provided inspiration for the comic creation. Maxine took on an individuality of her own, taking sheer delight in making high-spirited, crabby remarks about almost everything. Though she was truly funny, the character had the staff at Hallmark™ concerned. and after so many years who is still around:)

I have a one-step program for dealing with stress. Well, one step and a kick to be exact.
-Caffine is for people who feel they aren't irritable enough on their own.
-The greatest thing about cordless phones is instead of hanging them up on people, you can just throw them.
-Sometimes the days just fly by--except for the day when you have to wait for the cable guy.
-My idea of a high-stress job is any job where you have to work with other people.
-Found something at the swimsuit shop I was really comfortable in. The dressing room.
