Let Your Light Shine
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, which most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented, and fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that
other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And, as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
- Marianne Williamson
Many of us believe - even on a subconscious level - that it is wrong to let our lights shine. Some even forget they have a light at all. Each of us is created unique and individual for a reason, and every person has a unique and individual light.
Each of us excel at something, each of us have gifts and value to others... sometimes in the most unexpected ways.
What is your light? What is your skill or talent? What is the thing - simple or grand - that you do well? I assure you, there is at least one. Whatever it is, do it. Don't hold back.
Let your light shine, and let your light be the spark that kindles another's flame. Think back through your personal history, remember and give thanks for the lights that shine on you.
