Good, Better Best

GOOD
In Richardson, Texas State Trooper was running radar. He had a perfect
spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting any. Then he discovered the
problem. A 12 year old boy was standing up the road with a hand painted
sign which read "RADAR TRAP AHEAD!"

The officer later found a young accomplice down the road with a sign
reading, "TIPS" and a bucket full of money. (And we used to just sell
lemonade!)

BETTER
A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated
radar post in Plano, Texas. A $40 speeding ticket was included. Being cute,
he sent the police department a picture of $40. The police responded with
another mailed photo of handcuffs.

BEST
A young woman was pulled over in Austin, Texas for speeding. As the TX
State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she
said, "I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the Texas State Police
Ball." He replied, "Texas State Troopers don't have balls." There was a
moment of si lence while she smiled and he realized what he'd just said. He
then closed his book, got back in his patrol car and left. She was laughing
too hard to start her car.

today I only need this quote:)

Eat while you can

when we begin to watch what we eat why is it that it always feels like you cannot get enough food? Sometimes I wish it was like that in other areas of our life, Faith for example, the more we get the more we want?
ok, so that is not a comment we usually hear or is it? I feel like I'm in the desert, but I guess JC spend 40 days out there and he came back strong, I pray for water while i'm on my journey:)

prayer:)
lord help me want more faith, not the religion , but the faith that I need to become stronger in my religion;)

Today's smile
Mother Teresa's Heavenly Experience
When Mother Teresa died and went to heaven, God greeted her at the Pearly Gates."Be thou hungry, Mother Teresa?" asked God."I could eat,"
Mother Teresa replied. So God opened a can of tuna and reached for a chunk of rye bread and they began to share it. While eating this humble meal, Mother Teresa looked down into Hell and saw the inhabitants devouring huge steaks, lobsters, pheasants, and pastries. Curious, but deeply trusting, she remained quiet. The next day God again invited her to join him for a meal.Again, it was tuna and rye bread. Once again, Mother Teresa could see the denizens of Hell enjoying lamb, turkey, venison, and delicious desserts. Still she said nothing. The following day, mealtime arrived and another can of tuna was opened. She couldn't contain herself any longer.Meekly, she asked, "God, I am grateful to be in heaven with you as a reward for the pious, obedient life I led. But here in heaven all I get to eat is tuna and a piece of rye bread and in the Other Place they eat like emperors and kings! I just don't understand it..." God sighed. "Let's be honest Terry," he said, "For just two people, it doesn't pay to cook."

The Big House

That's a strange name for a post, but today , it's not smilemaker, speaking but Joseph:)

The move is happening even if it seems as if you are not the one that's moving, it is happening even if you don't' want to admit it. Thanks to the help of men you do not know, they are moving you to a higher level, even if you do not know who they are they are helping to take you to your new home. Symbolically enough you are moving to the other side of the train tracks, to the big house, which seemed so unobtainable so many years ago. This kind of move only happens in the movies, (DVD)
Jennifer, is of course someone who you know, and feel comfortable with, she is obviously asleep according to you, the only thing she seems worried about is her sister and the loan. But you know that there is so much more she can be blamed with and she is asleep to the danger that her surrounding bring her. But the children are bounded and still, are they aware of it? Or are they really ok, just the fear of letting them go so far away even if it's for a week, is so terrifying that it's magnitude is so very fighting. Untie them, they need to go, they will be back:)
the fear of not being able to wake up ?, the fear that it's only a dream, and to see that all the moving is not real is very scary.

but guess what, it's real, moving on up to the west side:)

Today's Quote You have two hands. One to help yourself, the second to help others.-Unknown

Lying:)

Why do we always feel as if we do not tell the whole truth it is wrong? we don't always have to be truthful, I mean that in a good way. If something is not going to bring you peace, a lie can set you free, so my thought is that God will allow you some of the these lie's.

Prayer:)
God allow me to set myself free and break the bondage of others. forgive me for the small lie's that free me from other's grip:)

Today's Smile:)
Lying is a Sin
A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17." The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."

Strength courage and wisdom

As I continue my quest for wisdom, this song is a great motivator:0
set free of the judment that might follow, that is a great line in this song, review the lyrics and share what line is most like you:)

prayer:)
Hey Jesus help me keep working on my journey of wisdom;)

Another great song from India Aire:)

Inside my head there lives a dream that I want to see in the sun
Behind my eyes there lives a me that I've been hiding for much too long
'Cause I've been, too afraid to let it show'
Cause I'm scared of the judgment that may follow
Always putting off my living for tomorrow
It's time to step out on faith, I've gotta show my faith It's been illusive for so long,
but freedom is mine today I've gotta step out on faith, It's time to show my faith Procrastination had me down but look what I have found,
I found
[Chorus]Strength, courage, and wisdom And it's been inside of me all along, Strength, courage, and wisdomInside of me Behind my pride there lives a me, that knows humility

Wisdom

Wisdom is something that we all long for, but we don't always want to achieve it . The reason for this is to achieve wisdom you must go thru struggles. Lent should be a wisdom journey for all of us, but unfortunately it is a journey of struggle, is that because we put up our blinders to what we already know? Take your blinders off today and enjoy your wisdom, then share it:)

Prayer:)
May my life reflect the wisdom that you have blessed me with:) May I never forget the road I have been on , because the traffic lights are the warnings in my life, help me to receive each red light as a blessing:)

Irish Blessings:)
May your heart be light and happy,May your smile be big and wide,And may your pockets always have a coin or two inside!

Always remember to forget troubles that passed away. But never forget to rememberThe blessings that come each day.

May you always have a clean shirt, a clear conscience, and enough coins in your pocket to buy a pint!

May the face of every good news and the back of every bad news be towards us.

May neighbor's respect you,Trouble neglect you,

Train Wreck

Have you ever watched a Train Wreck? You know what I mean, you know that the path someone is taking is crazy, but nothing you can say can prevent the end result.
We are creatures of habit and we have to go thru things in order to be able to get over it.
I wish I knew the difference between wisdom and busy bodies.

Prayer:)
help me lord to speak gently, to share freely and to always remember that I cannot change anyone else's path:)

today's smile:)
a railway inspector in Arkansas in the United States was making the rounds of a railway station and yard in a small town.
He located Hank, a man who had worked in the rail yard for almost forty years. He questioned Hank about various safety considerations and seemed to be satisfied that Hank was genuinely knowledgeable about railway safety.
As a last question, he asked Hank what he would do if he saw two trains approaching each other, on the same track, traveling at speeds of 60 miles per hour (96.8 Kph).
Hank said "I'd yell R.T."
The railway inspector, puzzled by this, asked, "What's R.T."?
Hank said, "R.T.'s my buddy and he ain't never seen no train wreck like that would be"!

Are We Sure

Are We sure that Jesus is with us always? When we do things we are always looking for a sign, but the true sign is in the peace that surrounds the actions. So if you doubt, you are lacking faith in it. retink your priorities:O

prayer:)
Hey God, thanks for the pruning in my life:) works are not always what we need to bring us closer to you, thanks for that revelation:O

little boy was afraid of the dark. One night his mother told him to go out to the back porch and bring her the broom. The little boy turned to his mother and said, "Mama, I don'twant to go out there. It's dark." The mother smiled reassuringly at her son. "You don't haveto be afraid of the dark," she explained. "Jesus is out there. He'll look after you and protect you." The little boy looked at his mother real hard and asked,"Are you sure he's out there?" "Yes, I'm sure. He is everywhere, and he is always ready to help you when you need him," she said. The little boy thought about that for a minute and then went to the back door and cracked it a little. Peering out into the darkness, he called, "Jesus? If you're out there, would you please hand me the broom?"

Still St Pat's day

Muldoon Mourns his Mutt
Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside with only a pet dog for company. One day, the dog died, and Muldoon went to the parish priest and said, "Father, my dog is dead. Could ya' be sayin' a mass for the poor creature?" Father Patrick replied, "I'm afraid not. We cannot have services for an animal in the church. But there is a new denomination down the lane, and there's no tellin' what they believe. Maybe they'll do something for the creature."Muldoon said, "I'll go right away Father. Do ya' think $5,000 is enough to donate for the service?"Father Patrick exclaimed, "Sweet Mary, Mother of Jesus! Why didn't ya' tell me the dog was Catholic?"

I love nuns

Nuns at the Hospital
A man suffered a serious heart attack and had bypass surgery.
He awakened to find himself in the care of nuns at a Catholic hospital.
As he was recovering, a nun asked how he was going to pay the bill.
He replied, in a raspy voice, "No health insurance."The nun asked if he had money in the bank.He replied, "No money in the bank."The nun asked, "Do you have a relative who could help you?"He said, "Just a spinster sister, who is a nun."The nun, slightly perturbed, said, "Nuns are not spinsters! Nuns are married to God."The patient replied, "Then send the bill to my brother-in-law."

slave to religion

OK, so I can remember like yesterday when I used this song for a retreat. It made the adults laugh, because they knew all along I had voices in my head. But the young people got it:) I was just listening to this song, and had very nice memories , I thank God for great retreats and great moments of faith:) And it made me very grateful that I no longer am a slave to religion and ritual, retreats, or people:)

Prayer:)
Thank God I am where I am today:) The last year has allowed me to be reborn in you lord and not in your works, Thank you for a great revelation:)

INDIA.ARIE LYRICS
"Always In My Head"

You're like a cool breeze, on a summer's day
You are a river running through the desert plainYou are my shelter,
from the pouring rainYou were my comfort, even before the pain
I can hear the sound of five drummers in the wind
The leaves blowing in the breeze, ring out like guitars
A tin can rolls across the gravel like a tambourine
I am but a vessel, so I sing, because you are
[Chorus] In my head, you're always in my head
In my dreams, you're always in my headIn my pain, you're always in my head
In my peace, you're always in my head
A rainbow of rhythm stretches across the sky
An airplane in the distance, plays a beautiful cello lineIt's no coincidence;
it's in tune with the music in my headIf you were a shoulder you're where
I would rest, but I am your vessel so I hear,
you[Chorus]In my head, you're always in my headIn my fears, you're always in my head
In my joy, you're always in my headIn my tears, you're always in my head
You're like a cool breeze, on a summer's day
You are a river, running through a desert plain
You've been my shelter, from the pouring rain
You were my comfort, even before the pain:'cause I hear
you[Chorus]In my head, you're always in my headIn my dreams, you're always in my headIn my pain, you're always in my headIn my peace, you're always in my head
[Chorus]In my head, you're always in my head
In my fears, you're always in my headIn my joy, you're always in my head
In my tears, you're always in my head

Jewish Confession
An 80 year-old man went into the confessional and told the priest the following:"Father, I am an 80 year-old man, I'm married, I have 4 children and 11 grandchildren. Last night I strayed and had an affair with two 18 year-old girls. We partied and made love all night long."The priest said, "My son, when was the last time you were at confession?"The old man said, "I've never been to confession. I'm Jewish."The priest said, "Then why are you here telling me this?"The old man said, "Father, I'm telling everyone!"

have you found Jesus?

today is one of those days that I ask myself, am I really looking for Jesus in the right places? do I see him in the face of other? we are off to the soup kitchen where we usually see the face of God in his world today. look for him in his life today:)

Prayer:
Lord, help me to look for you in everyone, not just the people who seem to know you:)

Finding Jesus
An old drunk stumbles across a baptismal service on Sunday afternoon down by the river. He proceeds to walk into the water and stand next to the preacher. The minister notices the old drunk and says, "Mister, are you ready to find Jesus?" The drunk looks back and says, "Yes, preacher, I sure am." The minister dunks the fellow under the water and pulls him right back up. "Have you found Jesus?" the preacher asks."Nooo, I didn't!" said the drunk. The preacher then dunks him under for quite a bit longer, brings him up, and says, "Now, brother, have you found Jesus?" "Noooo, I have not, Reverend."The preacher, in disgust, holds the man under for at least 30 seconds this time, brings him out of the water, and says in a harsh tone, "My God, man, have you found Jesus yet?" The old drunk wipes his eyes and says to the preacher, "Are you sure this is where he fell in?"

8 is Great:)

Today's Quote
Always do right. This will gratify some people, and astonish the rest.
-Mark Twain

I saw this quote and it made me think,
yes I can think, from time to time:)
doing right is a funny thing, when you do the right thing it can piss someone off:)
you know what I mean, those people who get mad that they did not do the right thing when they had the chance, they get mad that they just walked away and you had the moral courgrage to do the right thing for all those who follow:)
so today keep doing the right thing, because it will piss someone off, besides it feels great to rid society of random acts of jerkness:)

A Pious Old Man
A pious man, who had reached the age of 105, suddenly stopped going to synagogue. Alarmed by the old fellow's absence after so many years of faithful attendance, the Rabbi went to see him. He found him in excellent health, so the Rabbi asked, "How come after all these years we don't see you at services anymore?"The old man lowered his voice. "I'll tell you, Rabbi," he whispered. "When I got to be 90, I expected God to take me any day. But then I got to be 95, then 100, then 105. So, I figured that God is very busy and must've forgotten about me, and I don't want to remind Him!"

Say is it Thursday?

Is it Thursday? This week has flown by, Last night we had a great bible chat:)
let's call it generational:)
we are studying the Passion (the movie)
this movie is a great example of our faith, as we look in the bible for specific parts we are studying we realize that it isn't always easy to find what seems painfully obvious;)
just like when we are looking for answers to our life struggles we cannot find the answers because we are blind to what is right before us:)

my quote for today is :) you will never make me fall again, I see your face for what it is:)

Prayer:)
Hey God, you have blest me with dreams, just like Joseph, but I realize that you only blest me with the translation in due season, thanks for the revelations:)

Well-Known Monk
A wandering monk walked barefoot everywhere he went, to the point that the soles of his feet eventually became quite thick and leathery. And because he ate very little, he gradually became very frail. Several days often passed between opportunities to brush his teeth, so he usually had bad breath. Therefore, throughout the region, he came to be known as the super-calloused fragile mystic plagued with halitosis

What day is it today:?

Poor attendance:
"How come I never see you in church anymore, Morris?
"Morris: "There are too many hypocrites there, Reverend.
Preacher: "Don't worry, Morris; there's always room for one more."

today I decided to start with the joke:)
why, because this joke cuts both ways:)
how many times do we feel like hypocrites?
perhaps we need to stop trying to fool people with our words and let our actions do all our talking:)

prayer
hey God
thanks for helping me realize that being real is more important than
anything else in the world.
thanks for bringing to me the wisdom of seeing all the hypocrites in my life since last year's lent:)
only the true friends have survived the fire of this year:)
AMEN

Day 5

Why is it just when you think you are in total control then you realize that , you are only following the path he is leading you to. So I travel along, and am not sure where I'm going, but the most unsettling part is I am not sure where I am going, but I don't care, because the peace that surpasses all understanding is AWESOME:)

today's prayer:)

hey God, thanks for always being right:) and always letting me think that, I can sometimes be in charge of my day:)
your smile for today:)

Why are the Catholics glad that Jesus was crucified and not stoned? Because then, instead of making the sign of the cross, they'd have to do this: *slap palm of hand repeatedly against forehead*

Day 4

Happy Monday:)
the journey continues, and I have put on my hiking shoes, because I expect that the true test are coming this week:)
ok, so I have a mid term this week:)

so this could be a test of my stepping stone

hurray for the routine :)

Prayer:)
what if you gave me everything I want today God? Would I really want what I long for:)
Thank you for answering prayers when I am sure of what I need and want:)

smile of the day:)

An explorer in the deepest Amazon suddenly finds himself surrounded by a bloodthirsty group of natives. Upon surveying his situation, he says quietly to himself, "I'm screwed." There is a ray of light from the sky and a voice booms out: "No you are NOT screwed. Pick up that stone in front of you and bash the head of the chief." So the explorer picks up the stone and proceeds to bash in the head of the chief. He is breathing heavily while standing above the lifeless body. Surrounding him are the 100 native warriors with a look of shock on their faces.
The voice booms out again: "Okay.......NOW you're screwed
