slave to religion

OK, so I can remember like yesterday when I used this song for a retreat. It made the adults laugh, because they knew all along I had voices in my head. But the young people got it:) I was just listening to this song, and had very nice memories , I thank God for great retreats and great moments of faith:) And it made me very grateful that I no longer am a slave to religion and ritual, retreats, or people:)

Prayer:)
Thank God I am where I am today:) The last year has allowed me to be reborn in you lord and not in your works, Thank you for a great revelation:)

INDIA.ARIE LYRICS
"Always In My Head"

You're like a cool breeze, on a summer's day
You are a river running through the desert plainYou are my shelter,
from the pouring rainYou were my comfort, even before the pain
I can hear the sound of five drummers in the wind
The leaves blowing in the breeze, ring out like guitars
A tin can rolls across the gravel like a tambourine
I am but a vessel, so I sing, because you are
[Chorus] In my head, you're always in my head
In my dreams, you're always in my headIn my pain, you're always in my head
In my peace, you're always in my head
A rainbow of rhythm stretches across the sky
An airplane in the distance, plays a beautiful cello lineIt's no coincidence;
it's in tune with the music in my headIf you were a shoulder you're where
I would rest, but I am your vessel so I hear,
you[Chorus]In my head, you're always in my headIn my fears, you're always in my head
In my joy, you're always in my headIn my tears, you're always in my head
You're like a cool breeze, on a summer's day
You are a river, running through a desert plain
You've been my shelter, from the pouring rain
You were my comfort, even before the pain:'cause I hear
you[Chorus]In my head, you're always in my headIn my dreams, you're always in my headIn my pain, you're always in my headIn my peace, you're always in my head
[Chorus]In my head, you're always in my head
In my fears, you're always in my headIn my joy, you're always in my head
In my tears, you're always in my head

Sometimes you just put into words what I can not, like
"that I no longer am a slave to religion and ritual, retreats, or people:)"
This is exactly what the feeling inside me is:)
You're the best!
